I went to visit the Hebrew University today and I have to say, the Hebrew University has the nicest campus I have seen so far. It is thanks to Edmond Safra who donated a lot a lot of money to the university with the constraint that a high percentage of the money is used for gardening and flowers. The university was somewhat unhappy about this. They did not want to prioritize the gardening before the bills but they had no choice. In my eyes, Edmond Safra was the best men ever. It has made the campus a gorgeous place to walk around!
It has this long alley bordered with beautiful and very colorful flowers on one side and trees and grass on the other side. It has a small forest that you can walk through and along the path, they put some areas with tables and chairs. It is the ideal place to work outside at the tables and protected from the sun by the trees.
The dining hall has a piano and the food you get is great! 8$ for a soup a huge salad buffet and some quiche and fish and sometimes you eat while someone is playing the piano. Right next door is the conservatory and you can just sit in the auditory and listen to their rehearsal. There is a swimming pool just a few hundred meters from that. The whole campus is beautiful! It is very well designed with nice shady areas and benches for people to work outside.
