Santa Marta is a beautiful town. It is very similar to Cartagena in that it also has bright colorful houses. In fact, I somewhat enjoyed Santa Marta more than Cartagena. It felt more like a real city, with its stores, lots of people, supermarkets etc. Cartagena was more a town that wasn’t really inhabited anymore, but was just there for tourists. Santa Marta had the same charming aspects of Cartagena, but was also bustling with people going on about their daily life.
